Podcasts + Ford

CD: Colleen Hill / ACD: Tara Bossardet / CW: Kristin Wellmer / GCD: Anita Salomon

I love podcasts. A lot. In 2015 my colleague and I pitched the idea of producing a branded podcast with Ford. It took three years of championing the idea before I got the opportunity to work on a branded Ford podcast, but along the way I learned a ton, became the podcast expert at my agency and made over 30 unique mid-roll ads. A few people took note of our success in the space too: The New York Times, AdAge, Adweek, The Atlantic.

My team worked closely with Gimlet Creative to sponsor several seasons of their shows: StartUp, Reply All, The Pitch, and Surprisingly Awesome. We identified the stories and people within Ford, then collaborated with the team at Gimlet Creative on the interviews and edits. Below are a few of my favorites.

“Your ads were the biggest factor in my recent purchase of my new car. So thank you, and please keep making these kinds of interesting, personal advertisements.”

— Tyler

It’s always exciting when personal passion and work collide. Below are a few personal highlights from my time working on branded podcasts.

Just before meeting Jad and Robert, founder and host of my favorite podcast: Radiolab.

Hanging out with Gimlet cofounder Matt Lieber. It is not an illusion, I really am that short. To be fair, he is quite tall.
